Gorton for Yes is a community-based group dedicated to informing and engaging the electorate of Gorton in the lead up to the Voice referendum. We live and work on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation.

In 2017, more than 250 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander delegates came together at Uluru and extended an invitation to the nation. An invitation to walk with them in “a movement of the Australian people for a better future.”

It’s time for us to come together and accept this invitation.

The referendum is a once in a generation opportunity to acknowledge the First Peoples of this land in our Constitution and to enshrine an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

But we need your help. We need to get the message out to as many of our neighbours as possible and we encourage the community to get involved, in big ways and small.
